Associate Neurological Physiotherapist

Ange has been qualified as a physiotherapist for 19 years, the majority of which have been working within neurological rehabilitation. She has worked within the NHS in the spinal treatment centre in Salisbury, acute neurosurgery in Bristol, the neuro community services Devon and as a research physiotherapist on the VeRMiS trial (vestibular rehabilitation in multiple sclerosis) at the University of Plymouth. Since 2016 Ange has also worked as an Associate for the Plymouth Neurophysio team.

For the last 4 years, Ange has taken on a Consultant Practitioner Physiotherapist role across Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust within Cornwall and has completed the MSc Advanced Professional Practice (Clinical Practitioner). This involves taking on a more strategic leadership role within the neuro rehabilitation pathways alongside education and research. Ange is currently undertaking a research internship and is focusing on improving access to neuro rehabilitation in rural communities. She also has an honorary contract at the University of Plymouth and teaches on some neuro rehabilitation modules including hypertonia.

Ange has a special interest in spinal cord injury and spasticity management. She is a non-medical prescriber and is the AHP lead within a multidisciplinary spasticity clinic in Cornwall alongside the Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine, and injects botulinum toxin as part of her advanced practice role.
