Charlotte qualified as a Physiotherapist from King’s College London in 1999. She carried out junior rotations and then specialised in neurological physiotherapy while at St George’s Healthcare NHS Trust, London. Here, she gained experience in all aspects of neurophysiotherapy including neurosurgery, intensive care, hydrotherapy, stroke rehabilitation and long term neuro rehabilitation.
In 2003, Charlotte moved to Brighton and led the neurosciences physiotherapy team. Here, she set up a facial rehab service and carried out various training courses, teaching both Physiotherapists and Nurses from hospitals in the south east. She also completed an MSc in Neurorehabilitation at Brunel University.
Charlotte moved to Plymouth in 2016 with her family. She joined the Plymouth Neurophysio team as an Associate Physiotherapist in 2018. She takes a holistic, person centred approach to treatment and uses her enthusiasm, dedication and training to help people achieve their goals. She is trained in many areas of rehabilitation including the Bobath Concept, postural management, FES, facial rehabilitation, hydrotherapy, splinting and exercise therapy. She has trained to become a Pilates teacher with the Australia Institute of Physiotherapy and Pilates. She is a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Neurology (ACPIN) and is dedicated to life long learning.
Charlotte also worked at St Luke's Hospice as a specialist physio in palliative care, where she was able to support people achieve their goals and live well for as long as possible. It was a challenging but rewarding role where person-centred, holistic care was key.
