Lydia Smith is a dedicated and passionate Physiotherapist who qualified from Keele University in 2017. She began her career with junior rotations at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, where she progressed to a rotational Band 6 role. Over the course of her NHS experience, Lydia developed strong clinical skills across Stroke Rehabilitation, Neurorehabilitation, Respiratory Medicine, and Amputee Rehabilitation.
In 2021, Lydia relocated to Plymouth to be closer to her family and began specialising in Elderly Care Rehabilitation and Falls within the acute setting at Derriford Hospital. Her role there involved treating a diverse range of complex conditions, including acute stroke, long-standing neurological diagnoses, and stroke outliers. She also worked as a Bank Physiotherapist at the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit and completed weekend sessions with Somerset NHS Foundation Trust between 2023 and 2024.
Lydia left the NHS in June 2025 to pursue new opportunities with Plymouth Neurophysio in July. She’s keen to progress her neuro-rehabilitation skills further and is enthusiastic about delivering person-centred evidence-based care.
Outside of work, Lydia enjoys staying active through gym training and pole fitness, and expressing her creativity through various outlets.
