Plymouth Neurophysio provides specialist acute and long-term treatment and management for clients with acquired brain injury.
Whether it is immediately after discharge from hospital / rehabilitation unit or several years after sustaining an injury, we can assess and devise a rehabilitation programme to help with mobility, function, cognitive and behavioural issues and promoting independence and well-being.
We can help clients reach their full potential and achieve maximum independence through therapy and exercise programmes and the use of specific equipment. We are able to advise and arrange trials of mobility and daily living equipment, neuro technology, orthotics or home adaptations, where appropriate, to compliment the therapy programme.
We welcome and promote return to leisure activities and sport and will be able to advise and arrange appropriate activities which may be of interest to clients. This may include cycling / triking, rock-climbing, gym programmes, paddle-boarding, surfing, wheelchair rugby, wheelchair basketball or any other activity that we can safely arrange. We are always looking to find ways to regain positive focus to an individual's daily routine and encourage participation in chosen activities.
The Plymouth Neurophysio rehabilitation team will communicate and liaise with other services including a client's GP, case manager, NHS therapists, Rehabilitation Consultant, orthotics services, wheelchair services, Speech and Language Therapists or other rehabilitation professionals as required to ensure that an effective team approach is adopted at all times. All communication is fully confidential and within GDPR regulations.
We will regularly set realistic and achievable goals with our clients to help optimise engagement with treatment programmes.
We are very experienced with writing clinical reports outlining clinical needs and recomendations along with a rehabilitation plan as required. Please do get in touch to discuss how we can provide help to you, your family member or your client.
